Wild photos

Check out the Guardian’s Week in Wildlife…amazing wildlife photography from around the world. My current favourite is this Japanese White Eye on the cherry blossom in Shinjuku park, Tokyo.

A night at the museum

Recreate the Ben Stiller’s film, but hopefully without all the scary bits…The Natural History Museum are having an torchlit tour round the exhibits this July.

Become a nutter!

Harvest mice

Help the People’s Trust for Endangered Species by joining their Great Nut Hunt. Keep an eye out for nibbled hazelnuts as they’re a good sign of the elusive dormouse. In fact they’re so elusive, I’ve only got pictures of sleepy harvest mice! Find out how to become a nutter here

Cat palace

Snow monkeys aside, Japan’s also famous for Nekobukuro in Tokyo. Dozens of cats roam freely and for a small fee, you can go inside and stroke, watch or, in my case, discover your childhood cat allergy has returned.

Snow monkey business

Name that animal!

What’s in a name? Join the competition to name some rare and endangered species currently only known by their tongue-twister latin names. From jet-skiing beetles to bees who lay eggs in other bees’ nests…they all need new names. Find out more here
