Fascinating research showing how a wasp’s face reveals how aggressive it is.
Although when running away from one its face might look a bit of a blur, wasps’ faces can actually be highly patterned. A study using wasps with differently patterned faces showed that other wasps avoided the ones with highly decorated faces.
Although, if you’re close enough to see this I suspect it might be too late!
