Echo the elephant
This week BBC Two are showing a programme dedicated to the world’s most famous elephant, Echo. She and her family had been filmed by Natural World for 20 years until she died last year. As the largest land animals, they have no natural predators when fully grown but it’s thought the drought in her home near Kilimanjaro severely affected the tribe.
